Welcome to the Trash Moon Collective Community Newsletter!
Separate from the Hot House West Event Newsletter, this intermittent newsletter is specifically pointed at our Trash Moon Community to call out unique events, shows, workshops, news, etc., for all of y'all who love fiddles, banjos, country music, and the like!
This month there are 2 shows at the STATE ROOM that feature some bluegrass/old time acts that inspire me deeply--Lindsay Lou feat. Maya DeVitry opening on 9/16 (tonight!) and Hawktail & Aoife O'Donovan on 9/30. We have a special Lois Lane House Show this Saturday 9/21 with our friend Russ Thorn from Wisconsin. And we are co-hosting a Trash Moon + Tiny Porch Concerts featuring Resonant Rogues with Grayson and Melissa opening on 9/24!

Lois Lane House Concert
After we blew the roof off of the Commonwealth Room for the Hootenanny last Friday, many of us gathered at Meg Peter's House Saturday for the last Lois Lane Summer House Show featuring my band Pompe n Honey, with Megan Nay and Brielle opening.
I am so grateful Meg hosted this successful series and she just can't get enough of supporting music! We are having a somewhat impromptu house show THIS Saturday 9/21 featuring Ross Thorn with local legend Rooster opening at Meg Peters' House. Ross lives in Wisconsin and befriended Meg and I when he was in Acoustic Music plunking beautifully on the banjos. He is an incredible singer songwriter and we're excited for more soup, drinks, and sweet, sad-ass country songs with these two boys!
So, come by this Saturday at Meg Peters' House

The State Room
Come support two beautiful sirens in the bluegrass/old time touring scene tonight 9/16 at the State Room. Listen to some amazing women who inspire me deeply!
Aoife O'Donovan & Hawktail
The State Room
I'm sure many of y'all know the rich and beautiful voice of Aoife, but have you heard of Hawktail? Hawktail is probably your favorite old time nerd's favorite band. This band is pushing the chamber grass scene and they will be a TREAT to see at the State Room. Recommendation for those who love jazz and classical music as well as bluegrass and old time. Don't miss out on 9/30.
Resonant Rogues

Tiny Porch House Concert
Join us Tuesday September 24th to hang out with our friends Sparrow and Keith of Resonant Rogues. They told me they were rolling through town so I decided to partner with community leaders Sally and Derrek to co-host a house show! It's at their super cute Tiny Porch! Come on out and give some support to these incredible folk musicians.

TRASH MOON TUNES!
We have a Spotify Playlist and Spreadsheet with most common Bluegrass tunes played in town. If you're looking to shred with our community, start with the tunes below!
We also have a Spotify playlist with the tunes from our Fiddle Tunes V1 Book, along with a Strum Machine Playlist built by Dylan Schorer. Strum Machine is a great app onto use on your phone for backing tracks. It's really affordable and honestly I use it all the time when learning new tunes. It's not as great as a buddy, but it's much more fun than a metronome!
(Note, the TUNE OF THE WEEK will be posted in the Hot House West & Trash Moon Collective Weekly Event Newsletter, not this Trash Moon Collective Community Newsletter. The Trash Moon Collective Community Newsletter will only go out about every other week, whereas the Event Newsletter will be sent weekly and include all events related to Hot House West)
